If you don't have a gym membership or a personal trainer, or you just want to have extra help to workout at home, below are some informational files that will help you cross train throughout the paddling season.









The Foam Roller can also be used for stretching. These exercises can be done with either the 1" or 3" rollers. The larger roller is more versatile. There are also 3 firmness of rollers - White is lightly firm for beginners, Red is medium firm and Black is very firm.

Locally, you can purchase Resistant Bands, Stability Balls and Foam Rollers from the following places:

Resistance Bands - Big 5, Sports Chalet,
Stability Balls - Big 5, Sports Chalet, sometimes ROSS

It's very important to stretch out your muscles especially after workouts. Try to do it right after and not wait until your muscles cool down. Here are some basic examples of stretching that you can do at home, in the parking lot after practices or at the beach:
