Catalina Crossing Planning Committee
Manages travel and housing logistics for the Catalina Crossing (including island lodging, ferry information, and carpool coordination) so coaches can focus on crews and race preparation.

Juniors / Keiki Committee
Supports and grows SBOCC’s youth paddling program by helping organize practices, events, and communication to ensure a safe, fun, and development-focused experience for young paddlers.

Safety & Equipment Committee
Ensures the safety and readiness of all club equipment and paddlers by overseeing maintenance, inspections, safety policies, and member training.

Rig Run Committee
Leads planning and execution of SBOCC’s signature iron-distance race held annually in May, by coordinating permits, logistics, volunteers, safety, registration, and event promotion to ensure a successful and well-run event.

Out-of-SCORA Race Committee
Handles planning and logistics for races outside the SCORA season or region so coaches can focus on crew selection and paddler performance.

Outreach, Marketing & PR Committee
Promotes SBOCC and the sport of outrigger paddling through community outreach, recruitment, events, and management of the club’s marketing and social media presence.

OC1 / OC2 Committee
Oversees the safe use, training, and day-to-day management of the club’s OC1 and OC2 canoes, including policies, member education, and coordination on maintenance needs.

Return to Pier Committee
Plans and executes SBOCC’s annual OC1/2, Surfski, SUP & prone race held annually in January Return to Pier race by managing permits, logistics, volunteers, registration, safety, and event promotion.

Finance Committee
Supports the Treasurer and Board in budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and long-term financial health.

Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee
Secures funding and builds community partnerships through sponsorships, donations, and events to support the long-term financial health of SBOCC.

Governance Committee
Formed on an as-needed basis, this committee supports the Board by reviewing bylaws, policies, and governance matters to ensure the club remains compliant, accountable, and aligned with its mission.
